There are very few pet-friendly hotels near Manistee, but we understand the joy of exploring Northern Michigan with a pet, and we offer comfortable accommodations for both of you.

Leash-trained, well-behaved pets are welcome to join your Michigan getaway.

Convenient Pet Amenities

  • Waste Disposal Station: Located at the north end of the parking lot, closest to the Bear Lake beach.

  • Extra Waste Disposal Bags: Located in the Guest Supply Room. Access the room using your room code.

  • Dog Water Bowl: Located next to the ice chest for your furry friend to stay hydrated.

Motel Bear Lake Pet Policy

General Pet Rules

  • Pet Limit: A maximum of 2 pets are allowed per room.

  • Pet Fee: A non-refundable pet fee of $40 per pet, per reservation will be applied. 

  • Service Animals: Service animals are always welcome at Motel Bear Lake. Please see below for additional information regarding service animals.

  • Leash Required: All pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times.

  • Clean Up: Please clean up after your pet immediately. 

  • Unattended Pets: Pets may not be left unattended in the room or on the property.

  • Noise: Barking or excessive noise that disturbs other guests is not permitted.

  • Vaccinations: For the safety of all animals, please ensure your pet (excluding service animals) is up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Service Animal Policy

Motel Bear Lake welcomes trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals are exempt from pet fees and any breed restrictions. Please note that service animals must be:

  • Leashed at all times (except when service animals are performing work that inhibits the use of a harness or leash)

  • Housebroken

  • Under the control of the handler at all times

Pet Policy Acceptance

By booking a stay at Motel Bear Lake with a pet, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this pet policy. We reserve the right to refuse service to pets exhibiting aggressive behavior or who are not in compliance with these guidelines.
